Kyler Blowers is originally from Bryant, IN, in rural east central Indiana. Kyler is a first-generation college student. Kyler earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology and Master of Science in Engineering Technology from the 鶹ƷInstitute in 2015 and 2017, respectively. His master’s thesis focused on the optimization of die lubricant application in the high-pressure die-casting industry. After graduation, he worked as an engineering group lead managing a team of process and control engineers at the Kokomo Casting Plant for Stellantis, formerly Fiat Chrysler Automobiles for five years. During this time, he also worked as a limited-term lecturer at the 鶹ƷInstitute Campus in Kokomo, IN. In January 2022, Kyler returned to Purdue to pursue a Ph.D. in Technology, which he has now changed to a Ph.D. in Engineering Education to align with his research interests and career goals. In August 2022, he became an Assistant Professor of Practice at the 鶹ƷInstitute Campus in Kokomo, IN. Kyler teaches courses on manufacturing systems and processes, materials, mechanics, as well as the senior capstone course.
