The supply chain concentration prepares Industrial Engineering Technology students to lead within integrated, data-driven supply networks. Beginning with foundational study in supply chain management technology, students examine logistics systems, procurement, distribution, inventory and the operational coordination required to move products, information and resources efficiently.
Students can deepen their expertise through coursework in warehouse and inventory management, global transportation and logistics, strategic supply chain management, technical and service selling, or business-to-business sales management. These applied courses develop practical skills in inventory control, process optimization, transportation strategy, customer relationship management and sales engineering while connecting technical systems with organizational performance.
Graduates are equipped to evaluate supply chain performance, improve operational efficiency, support enterprise-level logistics decisions and communicate technical value to customers and organizational stakeholders. The concentration supports career paths such as supply chain analyst, logistics coordinator, operations planner, procurement specialist, sales engineer and distribution manager.
The smart manufacturing concentration prepares Industrial Engineering Technology students to lead in digitally connected, data-driven production environments. The curriculum combines industrial control, cloud computing, manufacturing information systems, machine learning and advanced analytics to support the development and operation of modern smart factories.
Students select coursework in areas such as industrial control systems, smart manufacturing cloud applications, production information systems, machine learning and manufacturing analytics, and nature-inspired design and materials. Through applied learning, they explore technologies such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs), manufacturing execution systems (MES), enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and cloud platforms.
The concentration emphasizes the horizontal and vertical integration of manufacturing systems, connecting shop-floor equipment and operational data with enterprise systems and decision-making platforms. Students learn to use real-time data, production analytics and intelligent applications to improve manufacturing efficiency, quality, flexibility and reliability.
Graduates are prepared to analyze complex production systems, improve industrial processes and implement scalable technology solutions across manufacturing enterprises.
