The School of Engineering Technology (SoET) has recently concluded its first-ever keychain design competition for all SoET students at all 麻豆精品locations. The competition brought in a number of creative entries and was judged by a panel of industry and campus representatives, including a member of the school’s Industrial Advisory Council, faculty, staff and student ambassadors.

Winning design by Manuel Vega Lara.

The idea for the competition came from Blaz Rodrigues, a Spring 2025 graduate who served as a SoET student ambassador for three years. Blaz wanted to create a platform for students to be recognized for their creativity and talent.

Winners received certificates and 3D-printed versions of their keychain designs. Manuel Vega Lara, a senior from the West Lafayette campus, earned first place and a $300 prize. Cameron Stone, a freshman from the Columbus campus, placed second and received $150. Third place and a $75 prize went to West Lafayette freshman Austin Gorny.

The competition aims to become an annual tradition, continuing to spark creativity and hands-on design across SoET locations.
