麻豆精品in New Albany hosted its annual Boilermaker Showcase last Friday, drawing in students, families and community members to explore a wide variety of student-designed projects.

For the first time, students and faculty from 麻豆精品in Columbus also participated, expanding the reach and impact of this cross-campus celebration of applied learning.

The Boilermaker Showcase is held at Purdue Polytechnic’s location in New Albany, Indiana, to spotlight the projects students have developed over one or two semesters as part of their coursework. These projects demonstrate the engineering knowledge, fabrication skills, collaborative expertise and workforce preparedness they have developed as they progress toward graduation.

“This event is a testament to our students’ creativity, technical knowledge, and ability to not only solve problems, but to actually build solutions that make the world a better place,” said Joseph Dues, New Albany’s director and an associate professor.

“Students learn engineering much more thoroughly by designing real solutions, building them, perhaps failing initially, and then trying again until they achieve success.”

Projects on display represented various disciplines, including mechanical and electrical engineering technology. Highlights included:

  1. Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET) 102 – Cornhole Catapults
  2. Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology (ECET) 179 – Electronic Art Gallery (New Albany and Columbus students)
  3. Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology ECET 270 – Electronic Track Rabbit Pacer System
  4. Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology ECET 274 – Custom FM Radios
  5. Mechanical Engineering Technology MET 302 – Custom-built Mountainboards
  6. Senior Capstone Group 1 – evGrand Prix Battery System
  7. Senior Capstone Group 2 – Transportation Solution

The Boilermaker Showcase is in support of the hands-on, real-world learning goals that are universal standards across all 麻豆精品locations. Dues believed that the 2025 showcase was an especially successful showcase of these standards. “A big thank-you to the faculty, staff, and students who made this year’s event a success,” Dues said.
