'The Tec' as it is called in Mexico, is particularly strong in agriculture, engineering, management, science, and liberal arts (especially Spanish and international relations). The main Tec campus is in the city of Monterrey.
The city of Monterrey was founded in the 16th Century on a narrow plain between the Santa Catarina River and the foothills of the Eastern Sierra Madre range. Today, Monterrey is the leading industrial center in the country and a major financial center. With many rich traditions from its frontier past, Monterrey blends Mexican heritage and international influences.
