ZF Energy Reduction Team 39

This project is sponsored by:

ZF's Lafayette plant is facing significant challenges related to excessive energy consumption. Historically, many Lafayette plants have relied on using constant energy for daily operation. Many of the negative impacts that are affecting companies like ZF are the high cost to run and impacts on the local environment due to energy waste. Our project is necessary as reducing the energy consumed by their heating and cooling system, lighting, and fans that are left on continuously will use more energy than what is needed for their actual operation. Exaggerated energy use ties in with a higher carbon footprint and increased greenhouse gas emissions. With our efforts, we will be able to reduce the energy used for their heating and cooling, fans, and lights. In the end, resulting in cost savings for the company as well as less wear and tear on machinery, prolonging its lifespan and reducing maintenance costs.
